Yes, I was in the third grade for 1955 and 1956. I missed about half of my second grade. Started in Memphis, got sick for a while and finished in Pasadena. Plus, I was a year younger than the rest of the class, since Tennessee didn’t have a kindergarten year.  It all worked out in the end.
