Howard shot this photo of D & H Auto Service in 1947. It used to be in his Pacific Beach folder, but I knew the address wasn't right. I'm pretty sure it's El Cajon Blvd. I thought I'd share it on the off chance someone will say, "Hey -- that's my uncle!" and give us some background.
The pictured gas station eventually became a Douglas Gas Station in the early ‘60s. Remember the jingle – “Fill ‘er up – ding, ding; Fill ‘er up – ding, ding; Fill ‘er with Douglas Gasoline”? It was right where Montezuma Road intersected El Cajon Blvd – Barbara Bright Wilder ‘62
