Taken on December 14, 1952 Howard always referred to this shot by its negative number -- "Old 658". It was his most requested photograph. There is a large blowup of the photo on the south wall of the Green Flash Restaurant in Pacific Beach. As you can see, the view extends well into Mexico. I've always been fascinated at the view of the rip currents in Mission Beach. At least, that's what I assumed they were.
