In the '50s, before the I-5, the Fry Family traveled up Highway 101 to visit my father's aunt in Long Beach.  I knew we were making northward progress when we passed the chickens out in front of the Twin Inns in Carlsbad.  I don't know who these people are, but the photo apparently came from a site called Mid-Century in Color - Amateur Photographic Slides and Prints - 1935-1970.
