John, thank you for this article.  There is a typo, it is Malka not Marta. Malka married Michael Nagel, one of my husband's very best friends, and together had 3 sons--the eldest has passed, the middle son lives in or near London, England, and was born the same year as my daughter, 1980, and their youngest is slightly younger than my son Kevin--but all 5 kids went to the same Hebrew School at Congregation Beth David in Saratoga, CA.  Malka and Mike were both born in Israel, so it is no surprise that neither spoke English.
