San Diego, California

A shot of the crew of the USS Rexberg (EPCER-855) with North Island in the background.  My father -- John J. "Jeff" Fry Sr -- is at the far left in the second row.  The Rexberg had been refitted as a laboratory research ship at the Terminal Island Shipyard in 1946 then sent to San Diego in 1948.  That may explain why the Fry Family went from Jacksonville to Long Beach to San Diego.

32nd Street Naval Housing

Somewhere in this Howard Rozelle aerial is the Fry Quonset Hut.
That's Coronado at the upper left and Mission Hills at the upper right.

This may be the only photo of our Quonset Hut residence at 32nd Street.  Me and Vicki astride the photographer's pony aboard which every kid in San Diego had their photo taken
