Here I am at the Howard Johnson Motel in Waldorf, Maryland on March 14th.  I got tired of visiting the Ptacks and doing research at the National Archives in the sticky humidity of summer and decided to go out in the Spring.   The weather people called it the "Storm of the Century".

Gathered for breakfast at Kono's on October 1st were Corinne Miller, me, Marilyn MacNair, Matt Pupkaris, and Johnnie Wilding.

I celebrated my 50th birthday -- October 4th -- at DeMille's Italian Restaurant in Normal Heights.  Marilyn brought helium balloons, Johnnie Wilding swiped a golf trophy from inside the restaurant, and my nephew Aaron Cathcart posed for a picture with his dad Brian.  Marilyn had a bad smoking habit at the time, and desperately wanted a cigarette while transporting the balloons in her car.  She kept picturing the Hindenburg explosion, however, and abstained during the trip over.  I had to break it to her that helium is not flammable.  The Hindenburg was filled with hydrogen.

I'd seen these mailboxes many times while traveling through Ramona on the way to Julian.  I finally snapped a picture on December 12th

Siobhan holds baby Dulcinea.  Clockwise are Aaron, me, Brian's wife, whose name I've forgotten, Brian, Mom, and Dulci's father, whose name I've also forgotten.
