PORTRAITS OF THE PAST.  45 years later my friends still fall on the floor laughing.  I left teaching early in 1979 and my first attempt to make money in the private sector was publishing a 1980 calendar filled with historic photos of San Diego County.  I called it Portraits of the Past. I even ordered 9 x 12 manila mailing envelopes with Portaits of the Past printed right on them. Wait a minute!! PORTAITS!! Someone — ME — didn’t proofread very well.  My heart goes out to the folks that put together the above program, which misspells DENNSTEDT.  At least the uniforms got it right.

Bob Grender was the batting champion, and went 6-1 on the mound.  Sounds like Babe Ruth.
