 Prudence Contine Butler Caravelli
 December 3, 1954 April 24, 2009
                    After graduating from
Crawford high school, my mom married her high
school sweetheart Charles Butler (my father).
They had two children, myself and my brother,
Matthew Butler. My mom was very outgoing and
loved her family, friends and work. For many
years she worked as a legal secretary for
several large law firms in San Diego. She
eventually retired from SDSU and within one year
of her retirement, she decided to go back to
work for a law firm in downtown San Diego. She
was diagnosed with cancer in December 2008. My
mom was not one to stay still and enjoyed life
to the fullest. She was a hard worker, and a
loving mother and she is missed dearly by all!

 My wife was
a native San Diegan, born at Scripps
                        Hospital.  She suffered several strokes
over the last two years and I was her only care
giver.  She died peacefully in her sleep at
home.  Georgia was an avid NASCAR and
IndyCar fan.  She enjoyed trips on our
motorcycle and adored her only Granddaughter
Emma. She Enjoyed our trips cross country to
places she had never seen taking old US
highways.   She will be laid to rest

 Steve Eckles February 24, 1955 - October 19, 2020
 Steve spent
32 years at General Dynamics after graduating
from Crawford. He was also passionate about
                        physical fitness and weightlifting.  He
would often be found at the gym when he was not
at home.  He was a sports fanatic, but he
especially loved basketball and football. He was
                        passionate about collecting sports memorabilia
and particularly loved all things Lakers and
                        Raiders.

 Carl Evans, Jr February 19, 1955 - April 10, 2008
                    Smooth Jazz 98.1 sends
condolences to the family, friends and fans of
Carl Evans, Jr., keyboardist and founding member
of the veteran San Diego-based group Fattburger.
Evans passed away after battling health
challenges as a result of diabetes. The musical
progeny of former Navy Band master and
accomplished saxophonist Carl Evans Sr. and
mother Clara Lovelace, a gospel singer and choir
director, Carl Evans Jr. was one of the
countrys most acclaimed jazz pianists. Evans
moved to the San Diego area when he was five
years old. He graduated early from Crawford High
School to begin touring with Barry White and,
through the years, many others including Freddie
                        Hubbard, Cannonball Adderley, Eddie Harris,
Rufus Thomas, Anita Baker, Lionel Ritchie,
Gerald Albright and Nathan East. He recorded and
produced over 25 CDs. Evans had undergone recent
surgeries in his battle with diabetes, including
the amputation of his left leg below the knee in
December, 2007 and another surgery in January.
Numerous San Diego musicians had participated in
recent benefit concerts to offset the cost of
Evans' medical bills. (Thanks to Tony

                  Diagnosed with a
brain tumor in March of 2008, Mike was able to
return to his optometry practice for some time
despite undergoing two surgeries, radiation and
ongoing chemotherapy even after he was no longer
able to practice, he continued to do the things he
loved with family. and friends until very shortly
before he passed. Mike was born end raised in San

practice of Kovtun, Peters and Fry, which later
became Kovtun and Guarnotta and then Michael
Guarnotta, OD, Inc. in El Cajon. He left a
successful practice with many, many long time
patients in good hands. It was his wish to donate
his corneas to the San Diego Eye Bank.

                  My brother Chuck St. Martin
died in Chino Valley, Arizona, where he had lived
for a number of years. Siblings Steve St. Martin
'67, Bob Martin '69, Marilyn Martin Lindstrom '64,
and Judy Martin '68 traveled from Seattle, Salt
Lake City, District of Columbia, and Grinnell,
Iowa for the memorial service. Genealogical
digging showed that our great-grandfather was born
St. Martin and changed his name to Martin. Several
members of the extended family changed their names
back to St. Martin in the late 1970s. Others kept
the Martin name -- Judy Martin 68

Sue died at her home after a
three-year journey with cancer. During this
journey she learned to truly live and celebrate
life! Sue was and is an inspiration to many. She
was joy itself, just her laugh alone brought
smiles to the faces and hearts of many. Sue was
