Pacific Beach Jack-in-the-Box • circa 1952

Isabell Frisk, granddaughter Judith Tyndall in hand, points to the 15¢ hamburger sign at the new Jack-in-the-Box, at 4104 Mission Boulevard, around 1952. Mission Bay Market and Mission Bay Motel are visible at the right.  The motel is still in business.  Mount Soledad and La Jolla can be seen in the distance.  Isabell's grandson Greg Thomas, a fellow Crawford High graduate, sent me this photo hoping I might be able to tell him the location.  He sent it to the right guy.  You can see the restaurant below in Howard Rozelle's 1952 aerial photo of the intersection of Pacific Beach Drive and Mission Boulevard.
