Our family lived in Quonset Huts at 32nd Street when we first came to San Diego.  In later years we often shopped at the 32nd Street Commissary.  My uncle, who served on "Four Stackers" like the ones above, always referred to 32nd Street as the "Destroyer Base", or just the "Des Base".
