Old photos are more fun when you can recognize the landscape.  There's not a lot of that going on here, but you can see North Island and Point Loma in the distance.  There's a streetcar on the right, headed to town I assume.  I think those are the tips of sailing ship masts clustered at the harbor's edge on the right.  Oh, the bench in the foreground has the initials S. D. E. Ry. -- San Diego Electric Railway.  I guess that's where you wait for the streetcar.
