The
Cabrillo Bridge is reflected in a pond apparently created for the
1915 Panama Pacific Exposition.  Today's photographer can whip out a
cell phone and can take a pretty good picture.  In 1915 the person
who took this picture may well have used a horse and buggy to transport
his wooden tripod and gigantic camera, which used 8 x 10 glass plate
negatives.  If you're lucky enough to work with the original glass plates, as I
did at the Union Title & Trust Company's photo collection in 1965, they
make great contact prints.
