MAYNARD'S 701 Garnet Avenue • Pacific Beach Jack Minteer took this iconic shot of Maynard's in 1972. He called it Sunday Morning. Maynard's was a popular place in the '60s and '70s, where 25¢ would get you a meal on Spaghetti Night, Taco Night and, on Sunday Morning, a "Spanish Omelet". Underage diners could line up on Ocean Boulevard where Owen the Cook would hand them a meal out the window. Maynard's was dozed to make way for See the Sea Condominiums and Owen the Cook went on to please the palates of folks who dined at Tug's. |
