Mission Valley • 1936

Looking East from the Presidio
A keen eye can make out the "S"
on Cowles Mountain at the center of the photo.
The brilliant white Carmelite Monastery at the north
end of Hawley Blvd can also be seen on the bluff to
the right of center.
San Diego de Alcala
I can't quite figure out
where this photo was taken from. Perhaps
Kensington. The mission is about to be
covered in a cloud -- or perhaps the cloud is
heading west. Grantville and Mission Gorge
are visible to the right.
